LLH Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for one of our clients, located in the Phoenix, AZ Metro area. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to their operations and growth.


As a Staff Accountant you play a pivotal role in assisting in the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulations and supporting various accounting functions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of financial integrity.


This is a Contract To Hire position, in office, Monday – Friday work week .


Responsibilities:



  • Perform daily, monthly, and yearly financial transactions, including journal entries and reconciliations


  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports


  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of cash balances


  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis


  • Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations


  • Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements


  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.


  • Participate in the development and improvement of accounting processes and procedures


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting and finance-related inquiries


  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)


  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and industry standards


Skills & Abilities:



  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level Pivot Tables and Vlookups)


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work


  • Strong organizational and time management skills


  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines


  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required


  • Minimum of 4 years + of experience in accounting or related field


  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
