DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
The Document Management Specialist will be primarily responsible for the efficient and accurate labeling and titling of scanned images from incoming mail. Completes a high-volume accurate review of incoming mail, to ensure legibility of the documents, accurate entry of all applicable fields, correct claim document assignment, and separation per company specification.
LOCATION: Walnut Creek, CA 94596 SHIFT: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm COMPENSATION: $20.00 - $23.00 Depending on experience DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:Review the initial submission of documents provided in email format and batch the documents for processing.
Reviews scanned images of incoming mail. Labels and titles documents per company identification standard.
Investigates documents presented without a claim number. Forwards new claims to the first report team. Forwards documents without any identifiable information to the customer care team or other internal resources for further review.
Performs quality assurance reviews of scanned images and confirms a valid claim number. Rejects or returns documents for rescanning if images do not meet company standards and definitions or the claim number is invalid. Notifies the sender of the invalid document.
Indexes and assigns all scanned images to the correct claim number. Investigates within the claims management software to match the image to the correct claim number, reviewing the first and last name, etc.
Inputs image detail summary into the claims management system including date of service and document type.
Performs special assignments and projects as assigned.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma - associate degree from an accredited college or technical school is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum six months of related experience or training required.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to write simple correspondence. Able to write clearly and effectively. Able to effectively present information to management and public groups.
MATH ABILITY: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, the individual should have knowledge of office operations, workflow analysis, and current technologies in telecommunications, data entry, and file management.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, the individual should be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and able to quickly master proprietary and vendor software applications.
