The Bilingual Support Coordinator provides direct support to residents experiencing housing crises and homelessness, offering clinical engagement and intensive case management services. This role involves assisting residents with housing stability, crisis intervention, and connecting them to essential resources such as employment, education, and health services. Responsibilities:
Provide psychoeducation, supportive counseling, and crisis intervention to help residents achieve housing readiness and stability.
Develop and implement tailored Housing Stability Plans, including participant budgets, to support long-term housing success.
Coordinate with internal teams, community partners, and external agencies (e.g., Housing Authority, Ventura County Behavioral Health, Veteran’s Administration) to facilitate optimal outcomes for residents.
Maintain accurate client records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HMIS databases, HCD, and TCAC standards.
Conduct assessments and provide immediate support during crises, including mandated reporting and safety evaluations.
Assist clients in applying for permanent subsidies or low-income housing programs such as Section 8, EHAP, and CalWORKs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field plus 2 years of social services experience, or a Master’s degree with 1 year of case management experience.
Strong knowledge of social services, public assistance, mental health, and substance abuse systems. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations from a trauma-informed, strength-based approach.
Proficient in case management, crisis intervention, and resource coordination. Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with CES, HMIS/ICMS is a plus.
Language: Bilingual in Spanish
Licensing: Valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance.
