Job Description: Staff Accountant

Location: Tampa, FL 33612

Type: Contract to Hire, Full-Time

Pay Rate: $30-$37/hour

Overview: We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. This role requires a true accountant who can jump in and hit the ground running. Sage experience is strongly preferred. The position is 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, reconciliation, monthly closing, and setting up new accounts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, verify all deposits, and address questions and problems from banking institutions.
  • Maintain payroll records and process paychecks.
  • Maintain accounting records of fixed assets.
  • Assist outside auditors at year-end, including preparing schedules, invoices, and providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain productivity reports and variances.
  • Perform general cost accounting and payroll functions under the supervision of the Controller.
  • Assist the CFO with various assignments and projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-6 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment.
  • Proficiency with general ledger accounting.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Sage experience strongly preferred.


Pay Details: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour
