Position Overview:
Seeking a talented Engineering Manager with a strong background in materials to join our team and lead and manage a group of process & equipment engineers along with technicians in developing processes for new product introduction and supporting the manufacturing of high-quality products. You possess hands-on technical skills and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing. Your expertise in process development, particularly with materials like epoxy, and your ability to lead cross-functional teams, will be crucial to the success of our new product introductions and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead a group of engineers responsible for process development, design of tooling and fixtures for new product introduction and support manufacturing.
Act as the primary subject matter expert in selecting materials like epoxy for hermetic sealing applications of connectors, and lead the process development.
Lead the implementation of appropriate controls (e.g., SPC) for key input and output variables for processes and products; collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure customers receive high-quality products.
Implement and sustain best practices for Engineering Designs and New Product Introductions, such as Design of Experiments, Design for Manufacturability, and engineering change procedures.
Work closely with marketing and sales teams to introduce new products to manufacturing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and customer requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve product and technical process issues in a timely manner.
Apply continuous improvement methodologies to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
Lead and conduct experiments and analyze data to improve process parameters and outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Material Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any relevant engineering discipline. Advanced degrees preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading process and equipment engineering teams and being responsible for product quality and yield in a high-mix, low-volume technology organization, preferably in the components industry.
Knowledge and experience in selecting and developing processes using epoxies and other materials used for hermetic sealing.
Strong background and technical skills in process development, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity and understanding of analytical techniques used in materials characterization.
Knowledge of statistical process control and quality assurance methodologies.
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Desire to work in a small/medium-sized company environment.
