LHH is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting practices. This role supports the accounting team by performing daily bookkeeping, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Maintenance:
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy.
Assist in maintaining and analyzing the general ledger to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist in preparing reports for management, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Support:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accurate coding and documentation.
Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on collections as necessary.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
Support annual audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation.
Compliance and Process Improvement:
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Key Competencies:
Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple priorities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
A proactive problem-solving mindset and a commitment to continuous learning.
Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
