LHH has partnered with our client, a well-established financial institution, to find a Senior Network Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Seattle, WA. About the Role


The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the administration, support, and design of network and telephony communication systems across the organization. This role will focus on network architecture, security, performance optimization, and ensuring seamless connectivity across multiple locations, including corporate headquarters, branch networks, and vendor connections.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design, implement, and maintain wired and wireless networks, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions


  • Lead network architecture development and ensure optimal system performance and security


  • Monitor and manage firewalls (Palo Alto), intrusion detection systems, and security applications


  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues while ensuring minimal downtime


  • Support remote connectivity solutions and assist in security audits and compliance efforts


  • Participate in disaster recovery and business resumption planning


  • Stay up to date on emerging network security threats and industry best practices

Qualifications & Experience



  • 8+ years of experience in IT and network engineering


  • 5+ years of experience with network security, including firewall and intrusion detection/prevention management


  • Expertise in TCP/IP, MPLS, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and VPN technologies


  • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and VMware Horizon/vSphere


  • Experience with Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection, Arctic Wolf, and Taegis XDR is preferred


  • Strong troubleshooting skills to support a 24/7 environment


  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE required (or must obtain within one year)


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field required

Work Environment & Location



  • Hybrid position based in Seattle, WA


  • Onsite presence required during the first few months before transitioning to a hybrid schedule


  • May require occasional off-hours and weekend work for urgent network support
