LHH is looking for a full-time Payroll Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Key Responsibilities:
Process employee payroll accurately and on time.
Maintain and update payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions, and benefits.
Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies.
Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions in compliance with company policies and labor laws.
Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits.
Ensure proper tax withholdings and deductions are applied.
Assist with payroll audits and generate reports as needed.
Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and tax deductions.
Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred).
Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk, Payroll Assistant, or in a similar role.
Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Paycom) and timekeeping systems.
Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor laws.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in payroll (e.g., Fundamental Payroll Certification - FPC, Certified Payroll Professional - CPP).
Experience working in a fast-paced business environment.
Compensation: $25-$30/hour DOE
