LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.



Job Overview:


The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time for all employees. This position involves maintaining payroll records, verifying employee information, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a good understanding of payroll processes.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Process and prepare payroll for all company employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.


  • Verify and input employee information, including hours worked, overtime, deductions, and other payroll-related data.


  • Maintain and update payroll records and employee files.


  • Prepare and distribute paychecks and direct deposit statements.


  • Calculate and process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and wage garnishments.


  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll taxes and other related reports.


  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies.


  • Assist in preparing and distributing annual W-2 forms and other tax-related documents.


  • Collaborate with the Human Resources and Accounting departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee information.


  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure company compliance.


  • Assist in audits by providing necessary payroll documentation and explanations.


  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager or Human Resources Manager.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.


  • Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.


  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and procedures.


  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.


  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.


  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.


Compensation: $36-$30/hour DOE
