Job Title: Housing Specialist Location: Tacoma, WA Job Type: M- Th (10-hour shift) or M-F (8-hour shift) Contract Type: Temp-to-Hire, length TBD Pay Rate: $25-36/hr Responsibilities:


  • Conduct interviews and screenings to accurately determine eligibility for housing assistance.
  • Compute rents and levels of assistance based on program guidelines.
  • Maintain and utilize the database system for records maintenance and statistical reporting.
  • Perform functions needed to determine eligibility and benefit levels for applicants and participants.
  • Ensure participants comply with program regulations and take appropriate actions to enforce compliance.
  • Conduct annual and interim re-certifications of participant eligibility and benefit levels.
  • Represent the Housing Authority at informal hearings and issue family participation vouchers.
  • Prepare documents for addendum preparation, renewals, and rent adjustments.
Requirements:
  • At least two years of practical experience with housing programs such as Section 8, public housing, or tax credit programs, or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
