We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced DevOps Engineer for our esteemed client in Portland, OR. This ongoing contract role offers the chance to work on innovative projects that enhance infrastructure efficiency and reliability.



Job Description:


As a DevOps Engineer for our client, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between development and operations. You will collaborate closely with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff to manage code releases, automate processes, and improve deployment and infrastructure strategies.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development process.


  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.


  • Monitor and maintain application performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.


  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and scalability.


  • Implement security best practices across all stages of the software development lifecycle.


  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.


  • Conduct performance tuning, load testing, and capacity planning to support growth.


  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve DevOps practices.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.


  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).


  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.


  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).


  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).


  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, etc.).


  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).


  • Knowledge of database management and performance tuning.


  • Understanding of networking concepts and security protocols.


Employment type: ongoing contract
