Accounts Payable Specialist

$30.00 - $35.00 per Hour


LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client-growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will span over the course of 6 months and will be fully onsite at our client location.

Key Responsibilities



  • Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process invoices for payment. Ensure proper coding and approval of invoices in accordance with company policies.


  • Payment Execution: Prepare and execute electronic transfers and payments by check, ensuring timely disbursement of funds.


  • Vendor Management: Maintain vendor files and relationships, ensuring all vendor information is up-to-date and accurate. Address and resolve any vendor inquiries or discrepancies.


  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and accuracy of submissions.


  • Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions and monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date. Reconcile monthly statements from vendors.


  • Reporting: Generate and maintain accounts payable reports, including aging reports, payment forecasts, and other reports as needed for management review.


  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations related to accounts payable.


  • Audit Support: Assist with audits by providing documentation and information as required.


  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in the accounts payable function and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.


  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounts payable experience in a similar role.


  • Skills:



    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)


    • Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and practices


    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills


    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel


    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines


    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in [specific industry, e.g., retail, manufacturing, healthcare]


  • Experience with ERP systems implementation and optimization


  • Certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP)

Work Environment



  • Office environment with potential for remote work flexibility


  • Standard business hours with occasional overtime during peak periods


Compensation: $30-$35/hour
