Accounting Specialist

LHH is looking for a full-time Accounting Specialist to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and experience with financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Process and reconcile accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• 
  

  Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial data.

• 
  

  Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• 
  

  Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.

• 
  

  Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax regulations, and accounting principles.

• 
  

  Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.

• 
  

  Process payroll transactions and assist with tax filings.

• 
  

  Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking.

• 
  

  Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.

• 
  

  Maintain accurate financial records and support the accounting team as needed.

Qualifications:

• 
  

  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).

• 
  

  Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist, Accountant, or similar role.

• 
  

  Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and financial regulations.

• 
  

  Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

• 
  

  Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• 
  

  Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

• 
  

  Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  

  CPA, CMA, or other relevant accounting certifications.

• 
  

  Experience in financial reporting and data analysis.

• 
  

  Background in corporate accounting or a specific industry (e.g., healthcare, retail, manufacturing).

Work Environment:

• 
  

  Office setting with standard business hours.

• 
  

  May require occasional overtime during financial reporting periods.

Compensation: $25-$30/hour DOE
