LHH is looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate should have strong numerical skills, accuracy, and a good understanding of basic accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and expense statements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and ledgers.
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor account balances.
Assist with payroll processing and tax-related documentation.
Handle data entry and ensure all financial records comply with company policies and regulations.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Address vendor and customer inquiries regarding payments and invoices.
Assist in audits by providing documentation and records as requested.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred).
Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper, or in a similar role.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and bookkeeping.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a corporate or small business accounting environment.
Certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper - CB).
Compensation: $25-$30/hour DOE
