$35.00 - $45.00 per Hour
Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, troubleshoot and repair HVACR equipment to ensure proper HVAC and/or refrigeration operation in accordance with established procedures and according to code.
Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity
Inspect existing HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety, perform consultations with customers to determine needs and discuss all solution methods
Explain the benefits and assist in the selling of maintenance contracts to new customers and assure renewal of ongoing maintenance contracts with existing customer base
Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources
Travel to customer locations, often multiple daily, as scheduled
Perform other duties as required to maintain equipment and follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
Maintain all site locations for safety and cleanliness before, during and after services are provided.
Requirements:
Minimum 4-5 years Commercial HVAC experience under a journeyperson preferred
Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required (Universal or Type I & Type II, 410A)
Technical high school certification and/or associate degree from an accredited HVAC program required
Knowledge of hand cutting tools, electric saws, and electrical and gas equipment as well as electrical testing tools including multimeters.
Ability to effectively utilize these tools and read electrical schematics.
Knowledge of refrigeration principals, ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose refrigeration issues.
Knowledge of specialty refrigeration tools, abilities to effectively perform specialized tasks with use of this tools while maintaining proper service practices.
Must have strong troubleshooting skills with ability to think outside of the box and experience and understanding of commercial HVAC/R including, but not limited to Split Systems, Package Units, Ductless Systems, Heat Pumps, Cooling Towers, Boilers, PTAC units, VAV’s, etc.,
Chiller & Refrigeration Experience a Plus
Controls troubleshooting (Distech a plus)
Must have knowledge and capability to complete repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporator motors, piping, control wiring etc.
Current valid driver’s license for operating motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey
