LHH, in partnership with a leading client, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Applications Developer for a 6-month onsite contract-to-hire role in San Francisco, CA. You will be responsible for the development of key systems on a new modern technology stack, focusing on quality code, automation, and best practices.


What You Can Expect: As the Lead Applications Developer, you will be responsible for developing complex custom software solutions to support the business requirements of our client. This role involves code reviews, implementing business logic from specifications, and contributing to the Development Center of Excellence.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct code reviews.


  • Implement business logic from business requirements and design specifications.


  • Develop key systems using new open-source technology stacks.


  • Focus on quality code, automation, and good practices.


  • Contribute to and be part of the Development Center of Excellence to enhance software development and delivery across the enterprise.


  • Proactively contribute to system architecture and stack design, toolset, agile, and DevOps approach.


  • Collaborate closely with Agile Dev team members, Product Owners, and business users to deliver business value.


  • Develop and test software solutions and review code quality.


  • Automate build, test (unit, functional, and performance), and deployment of the code as part of the CI/CD pipeline by working closely with Platform Engineers.

  • Perform code reviews.


  • Own the design of the application and ensure proper implementation with the development team.


  • Act as a technical design authority, collaborating with solution architects to implement solutions.


  • Provide ongoing application design feedback to the project team.


  • Review detailed design and code deliverables to ensure quality.


  • Assist Enterprise architects in defining, implementing, and overseeing technical standards, policies, and tools.


  • Provide technical oversight to development teams.


  • Ensure effective application development and integration with other systems.


  • Ensure operational effectiveness by adhering to the client's Process Framework.


  • Mentor developers on technical topics and Agile/DevOps adoption.


  • Estimate development efforts for new initiatives and help define and build development teams by working with stakeholders.

What You Need to Have:



  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant experience.


  • 5+ years of development experience in applications/product development using the MEAN/MERN Stack.


  • Experience or working knowledge of:



    • JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, XML, HTML, SASS/LESS/CSS.


    • Web platforms such as Node.js, Angular, React, MEAN/MERN Stack.


    • Microservices, Micro frontend Architecture, API Management (Apigee).


    • REST API first design and Open API Specification, specifically using Swagger.


    • Agile methodologies - TDD (Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma), BDD (Cucumber), Pair Programming, Scrum/Kanban.


    • DevOps tools - GitHub, Git Actions, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Selenium, Artifactory, Docker/Kubernetes, Datadog/Splunk, JMeter, Whitehat.


    • Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.


    • Cloud - Azure, Private Cloud.


    • Operating Systems - Linux, VM Architectures.


Preferred Experience:



  • Developing backend services using NestJS.


Employment type: contract-to-hire, 40 hours per week
