Job Description:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Benefits Specialist with a focus on open enrollment to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Open Enrollment Management: Lead the annual open enrollment process, including the preparation of materials, communication plans, and coordination of enrollment meetings.


  • Employee Communication: Develop and deliver clear, concise, and engaging communications to educate employees about benefit options, changes, and deadlines during the open enrollment period.


  • Benefits Administration: Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, and other employee benefits programs.


  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollments, changes, and terminations. Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise.


  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits administration, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and HIPAA.


  • Employee Support: Provide exceptional customer service by responding to employee inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, and enrollment procedures. Assist employees with resolving any benefits-related issues.


  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefits records in HRIS and other systems. Generate reports and analyze data to support decision-making and compliance efforts.


  • Education & Training: Conduct benefits orientations and training sessions for new hires and existing employees. Create and update benefits guides and resources.


  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve benefits processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience. Stay current on industry trends and best practices.


Qualifications:



  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, with a focus on open enrollment.


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.



    • Strong understanding of benefits programs and regulations.


    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.


    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.


    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (experience with Workday, ADP, or similar systems is preferred).


    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.


    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


    • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing exceptional service.


    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


    • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
