LHH has partnered with a real estate development company in search for a Payroll Specialist. This is a sole contributor payroll job that also includes aspects of HR. Responsibilities of this Payroll Specialist include:
Sole processor responsible for managing all things payroll, including tax calculations, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and benefits for approximately 100 employees.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and status changes.
Reconcile monthly benefit billing and deferred compensation.
Maintain and update payroll records, including tax withholdings, benefit deductions, LOA, 401k, and garnishments.
Serve as the main contact for payroll-related employee inquiries and issues.
Review and submit year-end ACA reports and distribute 1095 forms.
Prepare and submit year-end 401k employer match and profit-sharing contributions.
Review and reconcile quarterly and annual employer tax returns.
Prepare documents and reports for annual workers' compensation audits.
Collaborate closely with Human Resources, maintaining discretion and confidentiality with sensitive employee information.
Minimum requirements:
2+ years of full cycle payroll processing experience.
Proficient in MS Office Suite – particularly with Excel must be intermediate to advanced.
Strong understanding of payroll cycles, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Able to be the POC for all payroll related questions
Knowledge of Federal Form W-2 reporting and ACA reporting requirements.
Experienced with identifying and implementing process improvements.
