LHH has partnered with a real estate development company in search for a Payroll Specialist. This is a sole contributor payroll job that also includes aspects of HR. Responsibilities of this Payroll Specialist include:



  • Sole processor responsible for managing all things payroll, including tax calculations, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and benefits for approximately 100 employees.


  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and status changes.


  • Reconcile monthly benefit billing and deferred compensation.


  • Maintain and update payroll records, including tax withholdings, benefit deductions, LOA, 401k, and garnishments.


  • Serve as the main contact for payroll-related employee inquiries and issues.


  • Review and submit year-end ACA reports and distribute 1095 forms.


  • Prepare and submit year-end 401k employer match and profit-sharing contributions.


  • Review and reconcile quarterly and annual employer tax returns.


  • Prepare documents and reports for annual workers' compensation audits.


  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources, maintaining discretion and confidentiality with sensitive employee information.


Minimum requirements:



  • 2+ years of full cycle payroll processing experience.


  • Proficient in MS Office Suite – particularly with Excel must be intermediate to advanced.


  • Strong understanding of payroll cycles, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.


  • Able to be the POC for all payroll related questions


  • Knowledge of Federal Form W-2 reporting and ACA reporting requirements.


  • Experienced with identifying and implementing process improvements.
