LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled MIS Reporting Developer/Consultant to support California Community Colleges in developing, enhancing, and modifying Management Information System (MIS) reports. This role requires expertise in student information systems (SIS) such as PeopleSoft or Banner, a deep understanding of state and federal reporting requirements, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure accurate and timely data submissions. MUST RESIDE IN CALIFORNIA TO BE CONSIDERED!!!
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret California Community Colleges MIS reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Develop, modify, and maintain MIS reports and data extracts to meet compliance standards.
Collaborate with institutional research, IT, and functional teams to understand business rules, data structures, and reporting needs.
Perform ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various systems for accurate reporting.
Conduct quality assurance (QA) checks to troubleshoot data accuracy, completeness, and formatting issues.
Maintain detailed documentation for report specifications, technical designs, and data mapping processes.
Train and support institutional staff in understanding and utilizing MIS reporting tools.
Stay updated on California MIS reporting standards to ensure reports align with the latest requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in MIS reporting, preferably within higher education or California Community Colleges.
Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
Expertise in SIS platforms such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Ellucian Banner, or similar systems.
Experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms.
Familiarity with California Community Colleges MIS data elements and reporting processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
