LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled MIS Reporting Developer/Consultant to support California Community Colleges in developing, enhancing, and modifying Management Information System (MIS) reports. This role requires expertise in student information systems (SIS) such as PeopleSoft or Banner, a deep understanding of state and federal reporting requirements, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure accurate and timely data submissions. MUST RESIDE IN CALIFORNIA TO BE CONSIDERED!!!

Key Responsibilities:



  • Analyze and interpret California Community Colleges MIS reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.


  • Develop, modify, and maintain MIS reports and data extracts to meet compliance standards.


  • Collaborate with institutional research, IT, and functional teams to understand business rules, data structures, and reporting needs.


  • Perform ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various systems for accurate reporting.


  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) checks to troubleshoot data accuracy, completeness, and formatting issues.


  • Maintain detailed documentation for report specifications, technical designs, and data mapping processes.


  • Train and support institutional staff in understanding and utilizing MIS reporting tools.


  • Stay updated on California MIS reporting standards to ensure reports align with the latest requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.


  • 5+ years of experience in MIS reporting, preferably within higher education or California Community Colleges.


  • Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).


  • Expertise in SIS platforms such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Ellucian Banner, or similar systems.


  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms.


  • Familiarity with California Community Colleges MIS data elements and reporting processes.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.


  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
