Pay Rate Range:


$30 to $32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Overview:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sacramento, CA. As a Certified Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


  • Maintain and update payroll records, including adjustments, deductions, and tax withholdings.


  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and certified payroll reporting requirements.


  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for government contracts.


  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.


  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management, providing exceptional customer service.


  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and reports.


  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.


  • Collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Required Qualifications:



  • Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent is required.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a construction or government contracting environment.


  • Experienced in corresponding systems (such as LCP Tracker, EMARS, and DIR)


  • Strong knowledge of federal and California state payroll laws and regulations.


  • Experience with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage laws.


  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.


  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in the construction industry or with government contracting.


  • Familiarity with union payroll and benefits administration.
