Engineering Manager


LHH is hiring an Engineering Manager for a leading metal fabrication company located in the Royal Oak, MI area. Our client specialize in providing high-quality metal fabrication solutions to a diverse range of industries, from automotive to defense.


As the Engineering Manager, you will lead our engineering team to drive excellence in product design, development, and fabrication processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.


Responsibilities:



  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Set clear goals and expectations, and support team members in achieving them.


  • Oversee all aspects of engineering projects, from concept to completion. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.


  • Lead the design and development of new products, working closely with customers, sales, and marketing teams to understand their needs and requirements. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design and fabrication processes.


  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.


  • Manage engineering resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to meet project objectives.


  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the engineering team and across the organization.


  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team, seeking out opportunities to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality and performance.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.



  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles within the metal fabrication industry.


  • Strong technical expertise in metal fabrication processes, including machining, welding, and assembly.


  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.


  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


  • Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.


  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.


  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.


U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other appropriate status is required for this positions, in accord with U.S. import & export regulations
