Summary


Our client, a prominent player in the defense manufacturing industry, is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with a comprehensive understanding of industry practices, company policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering and a proven track record of success in highly regulated industries such as aerospace and defense.


Overview


As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing product, process, equipment, and method issues at designated stages of product development and manufacturing. You will lead and support actions to prevent and reduce all costs associated with poor quality, ensuring maximum product conformance to specified requirements while maintaining the best possible manufacturability. This role requires a high level of expertise and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.


  • Conduct analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to ensure product quality.


  • Create sampling procedures and design forms for recording and evaluating quality data.


  • Evaluate the precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment.


  • Review design documentation for compliance with requirements.


  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate processes.


  • Assess purchased products and provide input on acceptance and future purchases.


  • Document quality activities and develop new approaches to solve problems.


  • Communicate significant issues and recommend process improvements to management.


  • Prepare reports and present technical information to team members and management.


  • Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities.


  • Maintain knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.


  • Be available for daily tasks, including evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.


Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field.


  • 5-10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience within an AS9100-certified organization is a plus.


  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as aerospace and/or defense is a plus.


Other Qualifications



  • U.S. Citizenship. This job requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.


  • Active government security clearance or the ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.


  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately 25-40%.


Salary Range


$96,200.00 - $128,300.00


Pay Transparency


The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
