1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities of the 1st shift Maintenance Department. This role ensures the proper functioning and protection of process equipment, building infrastructure, and support machinery. Key duties include managing machine and tool performance essential for manufacturing, operating in a LEAN environment with proactive maintenance strategies, and maintaining efficient equipment availability. The supervisor is also tasked with implementing advanced tools for parts inventory, machinery uptime, preventive maintenance programs, labor, and cost control. Proficiency in CMMS software and industrial safety standards is required.
The essential functions of the Maintenance Supervisor include:
Ensuring safety compliance for staff and the workplace.
Supporting the implementation of a maintenance program and managing spare parts inventory for critical equipment (e.g., laminators, die cutters, printers, stretch wrappers).
Maintaining and updating the CMMS database to support modifications to the preventive maintenance program and document vendor-provided information.
Managing outside contractors and services as assigned by senior management.
Coordinating with other shifts during machinery and equipment installations, ensuring projects meet timelines.
Providing reports to approve third-party work, ensuring compliance with company, state, and local regulations.
Collaborating with the safety manager to obtain and maintain necessary state or local permits and certifications for maintenance activities.
Performing additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Overseeing vendor services, including costs, schedules, permits, and other necessary elements.
Job Qualifications:
A degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.), with the ability to learn new technologies.
Strong troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills, both independently and with support.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual Spanish a Must
