Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager


Location: Portland Metro Area, OR

Job Description:


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team in the Portland metro area. The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to risk management and a commitment to fostering a safe and healthy work environment.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.


  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.


  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.


  • Provide training and education to employees on EHS topics, including emergency response, hazard communication, and safe work practices.


  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.


  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities and compliance.


  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and trends.


  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.


  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels.


  • Proven ability to lead and manage EHS programs and initiatives.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is preferred.
