A leading construction firm is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Cost Engineer to join their team in Portland, OR. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of project cost management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and cost estimation, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed job cost reports, including budgets, commitments, forecasts, and expenditures.
Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to validate cost proposals and ensure fair pricing.
Conduct monthly reconciliation of project cost reports and track costs by bid package and change orders.
Interpret design and construction documents to quantify materials required for projects and summarize material quantities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in industrial or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Prolog, Procore, E-Builder) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure situations.
