Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Location: East Palo Alto, CA Duration: Temporary (through January 2026) Preferred Experience: Tax Credit & Affordable Housing Experience a Plus
Pay Range $26-28 per hour
We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) Leasing Agent to join our team in East Palo Alto. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and a strong attention to detail while assisting prospective and current residents. Experience in tax credit and affordable housing is a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
Answer phones in a courteous and professional manner
Greet and assist applicants, residents, and vendors
Support the Community Manager and/or Leasing Director with marketing efforts (mailing materials, tracking efforts)
Meet with prospective tenants and provide unit tours
Accept, review, and ensure rental applications are completed accurately
Assist in pre-application entry into the waitlist system
Contact waitlisted applicants for vacant units and track responses
Schedule certification appointments and collect necessary documentation
Initiate background screening and application approvals
Receive and process resident work orders, maintaining the Work Order Logbook
Assist in preparing and delivering general notices as needed
Collect rent payments and security deposits under supervision
Maintain accurate resident files and documentation
Help coordinate resident social functions and community communications
Requirements:
✅ Fluent in Spanish & English (Required)
✅ Prior experience in leasing, property management, or customer service preferred
✅ Knowledge of Tax Credit & Affordable Housing (a plus)
✅ Strong communication and organizational skills
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
