Summary of the Role:
This position involves overseeing all quality-related activities and ensuring that quality standards are developed and achieved. The Quality Engineer is responsible for fulfilling all quality objectives and contributing to the company's goals for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities:
Quality Planning: Develops quality plans for new and existing products and processes to meet internal and external goals.
Data Recording: Reviews and maintains quality data to identify trends and reports findings to stakeholders.
Process Verification: Explores new test methods and equipment, ensures accuracy of data, and provides feedback on process control.
Audits and Controls: Establishes audit frequency to ensure compliance and leads continuous improvement activities.
Corrective/Preventive Actions: Ensures customer requirements are met and verifies the effectiveness of improvement actions.
Responsibilities:
Monitors QA Inspection Team's activities to address customer requirements.
Assists in training and provides examples of defective products.
Communicates defective conditions and trends to supervisors.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in measurement and inspection methods.
Works with various engineering and technical staff.
Uses gauging equipment to monitor and maintain quality.
Advises managers on specific problems and potential issues.
Develops standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
Conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
Coordinates customer and supplier certification activities.
Interprets drawings and specifications.
Interviews and recommends additional QA staff.
Performs basic math functions.
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (3-4 years).
Preferred ISO 9001 experience or similar.
Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Windows/Office products.
