Buyer Assistant

LHH is looking for a Buyer Assistant for one of our great clients. The Buyer Assistant will support the procurement team in managing purchasing activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, and assisting with the overall procurement process. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services to meet company requirements.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain product information, pricing, and availability.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure accuracy in order details.
  • Track orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs.
  • Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality concerns.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Support the procurement team with administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
