Job Title: Sr. Payroll Specialist
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Job Type: Temporary to Hire
Pay Range: $38.00-$47.00 hourly
Our client, a non-profit organization based in Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Payroll Specialist to join their team on a temporary-to-hire basis. The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing payroll. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in payroll processing and a strong understanding of Workday.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.
Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Process new hires, changes and updates
Prepare payroll reports for internal and external audits
Audit timecards to ensure accurate payroll run and follow up as needed
Calculate wages, salaries, pay raises, overtime, double time etc.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.
Proficiency in Workday is required.
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
