Job Title: Accounting Manager


Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA


Compensation: $55.00-$65.00 per hour


Our client, a non-profit organization located in Downtown Los Angeles, is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their team on a contract basis.


Responsibilities:



  • Oversee the weekly Accounts Payable payment requests, ensuring proper account coding, authorization, and posting of batches.


  • Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and established procedures in daily accounting operations.


  • Supervise the daily operations of Payables, Travel, Expense Reports, and Fixed Assets.


  • Monitor and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and controls.


  • Oversee timely and accurate 1099 reporting and sales & use tax reporting.


  • Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations.


  • Prepare schedules required for financial statements, annual financial audit, and internal audit.


  • Prepare schedules and statements for the annual form 990PF.


  • Prepare the quarterly board reporting package, including Financial Statements, Statement of Cash Flows, Payout Report, and supporting schedules.


  • Perform budget-to-actual administrative expense analysis and forecast administrative expenses.


  • Perform ACH/Payment instruction anti-fraud validation and Bill.com independent verifications.


  • Research and implement new accounting standards in compliance with GAAP.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.


  • CPA certification is preferred.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.


  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Strong organizational and time management skills.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
