- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform and review complex account reconciliations, including bank statements, inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger, including journal entries and adjustments.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts. Analyze variances and report findings to management.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities. Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely submission of tax payments.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and financial modeling.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Provide financial insights and recommendations for process improvements.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior accounting role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards. Familiarity with audit procedures and internal controls.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to take initiative and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
