Senior Accountant LHH is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial reporting, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax filings, and assisting with audit preparations. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role is direct hire and will pay between $75K and $100K annually. Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform and review complex account reconciliations, including bank statements, inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger, including journal entries and adjustments.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts. Analyze variances and report findings to management.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities. Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely submission of tax payments.
  • Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Provide financial insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior accounting role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards. Familiarity with audit procedures and internal controls.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors.
  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to take initiative and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
