- Guide executors/personal representatives in the administration of probate estates and manage details.
- Assist attorneys with establishing probate administrations in various jurisdictions.
- Track estate financials for probate filings and prepare accountings reporting the financial activity.
- Prepare probate court filings.
- Track deadlines (e.g., court filings, claim notices, tax deadlines).
- Assist trustees with the administration of trust assets (e.g., ownership transfers, asset liquidation and asset transfers).
- Assemble trust financial accountings from inception to distribution.
- Prepare, communicate, and track annual life insurance premium notices to trust beneficiaries.
- Track annual life insurance premium due dates.
- Correspond with the Internal Revenue Service regarding tax notices.
- Request taxpayer identification numbers.
- Work with clients to gather necessary supporting documents and information for tax filings.
- Assist attorneys with the preparation of federal and state individual and fiduciary income tax returns, federal estate and federal gift tax returns.
- Electronically file income tax returns.
- Assemble and organize necessary supporting documents for paper filings with the Internal Revenue Service.
- Track individual filing deadlines.
- Maintain internal electronic files of all submitted tax returns and supporting materials.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, ProSeries Tax software
- Paralegal Certificate
- 5 Years of Experience
- Billable requirement: 1600 hours per year
- Hybrid work schedule: 2 days remote/3 days in-office
- Start time: 8:30 am CST or 9 am CST
- Team Player: Works well as a member of a group
