Assistant Project Manager- Kansas City Metro LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client in the Ottawa, KS area, looking to fill their Assistant Project Manager position. The Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager and field staff in quickly driving daily job management tasks, including workflow, manpower, and scheduling of the assigned projects. This position will be fully onsite paying $55,000-65,000 annually. Responsibilities:
  • Advise the Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule concerns.
  • Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the development and maintenance of the schedule.
  • Review of submittals
  • Update project status.
  • Update of drawings and specifications as issued/required.
  • Recognize when RFIs are warranted and follow through with appropriate documentation and pricing of RFI responses from Clients and Design Teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of project billings, special reports, studies, etc. requested by the client and/or project management.
  • Assist with meeting and presentation preparation.
  • Issuance of various forms of client communications i.e., letters, emails, updates, etc.
  • Assist with material procurement and coordination.
  • Recommend and/or analyze materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
  • Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items, as required.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Participate in cost controls by comparing the actual cost of project labor and materials to estimates.
  • Interaction with field personnel as needed to maintain progress.
  • Assist Project Manager with training of less experienced team members.
  • Utilization of MOE software/programs i.e., CRS, PTS, Apex, ConEst, Sage, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Science, or similar
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in project management and/or engineering. Internships in applicable fields can apply to experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Resiliency and ability to adapt to change.
  • High level of organization
  • Effective communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exhibit respect for, and towards, all team members regardless of position.
  • Understanding of construction terminology related to electrical construction.
  • Intermediate understanding of labor productivity for electrical construction, contract requirements, and analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced understanding of blueprints and project specifications
  • Ability to take direction and receive constructive feedback.
  • Strong sense of self-motivation
Job Details:
  • Monday-Friday: 40 hours/week
  • Compensation: $55,000-65,000 annually
