Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville. This is a contract-to-hire position with a competitive pay range of $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with specific expertise in the following areas:
- General Ledger (GL) Management
- Financial Reporting
- Grants and Restricted Funds Management
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Month and Year-End Closing
- Compliance and Tax Filings
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Special Projects
- Internal Controls and Financial Policies
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts (GAAP, financial statements, journal entries, etc.).
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards, including tax-exempt regulations and IRS Form 990 filing is a plus.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proficient in Excel (experience with functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar systems)
Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
