LHH is seeking a Production Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near the East Side of Indianapolis, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing team and to join an industry-leader in a unique manufacturing environment. In this role, you will manage a team of Supervisors and up to 100 Indirect Reports as you oversee all production-related activities within your facility. The compensation ranges between $100,000-115,000 per year and includes a bonus program, affordable insurance options, a 401k plan with a company match, and generous PTO and holiday offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead all production staff, evaluate work orders, and create production schedules to meet customer demands
  • Lead planning meetings with department leaders prior to production shifts and confirm accurate stock levels of all raw materials & packaging components are in place before adding to production schedule
  • Convey new sales orders to Operations team and ensures the production schedule can meet lead times
  • Anticipate planning based on customer prior year purchases & current stock levels
  • Direct workers in adjusting machines and equipment to ensure products meet standards
  • Remain in compliance with Quality Assurance and Safety standards at all times
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify and resolve process-related stoppages, prevent production delays and/or backlogs, and eliminate recurrence of non-conformance issues
  • Work with approved suppliers for product availability, market conditions, and ensures contracts are in place where required
  • Manage change, inventory control, financial analysis and ensure proper distribution of inventory for any discontinued, damaged and/or obsolete inventory items
  • Communicate daily movement of materials from production to distribution areas
  • Implement continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) for manufacturing and distribution and for Environmental, Health, and Safety proposes

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred but other degrees in Supply Chain Management, Operations, and/or Business will be considered as well
  • A minimum of 10 years of Production Management experience within a manufacturing environment is required
  • Industry Certifications are required
  • Ideal candidates will possess a Six Sigma Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Must have experience with production scheduling and understand how materials flow efficiently through a manufacturing facility
  • Must have knowledge of quality standards and health & safety practices and regulations
  • Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent communication skills
  • Must have intermediate or advanced skills using Excel
