LHH is seeking a Product Development Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a newly created leadership position which is a direct result of consistent and sustained growth within the industry. You will have the opportunity to lead a well-established Product Development Department, coordinate with internal and external customers, and oversee the design and development of new product lines. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $120,000-130,000 per year and offers several medical insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead a team of Design Engineers, CAD Drafters, and R&D Technicians as they design, validate, prototype, test, and manufacture new product lines
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and engage with external customers to incorporate their product design inputs into the development process
  • Approve and oversee new projects from beginning to end including the definition of the concept, designing, BOM selection, and manufacturing
  • Oversee new part approval process, product testing, material and tooling sourcing, etc. through production
  • Manage the lab staff and ensure product conformity to customer standards
  • Work closely with the engineering team and technicians on the floor who will put your team’s vision and schematics into action
  • Collaborate with the sales and client services teams about client requests, custom projects, etc.
  • Verify and validate new designs and conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during the design and beginning stages of the manufacturing process
  • Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities
  • Perform initial and ongoing product and performance reviews

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
  • Must have 8+ years of experience with New Product Design within a manufacturing environment (preferably within a highly regulated industry)
  • Must have 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing New Product Development/Design Engineering staff members within a manufacturing environment
  • Must be a skilled leader who can help engineers prioritize their work, maintain high customer satisfaction rates, and solve problems in a timely manner
  • Must have product design experience using CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, etc.)
  • Must possess the ability to read blueprints and have experience with design systems
  • Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
