Accounts Receivable Specialist – Cash Application

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for Cash Application Specialist for a 3-month project with a client in Independence, Oh. The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for accurately applying payments to customer accounts, ensuring timely and efficient processing of cash receipts. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of the organization by supporting the accounts receivable function and contributing to accurate financial reporting. This is a 3- month contract assignment that could get extended. Pay for this position will range between $16 and $18.50/hr.

Responsibilities:



  • Accurately apply incoming payments (checks, wire transfers, ACH, credit cards) to customer accounts.


  • Reconcile daily cash receipts to ensure all payments are accounted for and posted correctly.


  • Perform regular reconciliations of customer accounts to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate account balances.


  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments, overpayments, and unapplied cash.


  • Communicate with customers to obtain payment details and resolve any payment-related issues.


  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to payments and account balances.


  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all cash application activities.


  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash application and accounts receivable status.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a similar role.


  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.


  • Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).


  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
