Location: Huntington Beach, CA 92647 Pay: $55-60/hr depending on experience Project Duration: 3 Months - Possible Extension
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of medium-sized short-term development projects. The Project Manager will ensure that all technical, cost, quality, and delivery requirements are met, maintaining accountability for the project budget as delegated by leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and implement the development plan according to standard processes, aligning with performance, quality, delivery, and cost commitments.
Integrate products/services within system requirements and customer needs.
Organize and manage projects using project management methodologies, including formalizing PBS/WBS/OBS.
Implement a global management strategy for scheduling margins and supplier constraints.
Lead project development reviews and support program milestone reviews.
Apply Earned Value Management (planning, budgeting, critical path, margins, S-Curves) to control project workload and recurring costs.
Manage risk provisions and optimize opportunity plans using risk management tools.
Lead a local project team and coordinate to meet performance objectives.
Assist in fiscal year budgeting and business case processes.
Understand subcontract management principles and utilize change management tools effectively.
Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into project planning.
Analyze and document project/work package changes, preparing change packages for review.
Report and escalate issues to management as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience: 4+ years of related experience leading work packages, preferably within the aviation and/or aerospace industry.
Skills:
Proficiency in MS Project and competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Proven experience in project planning and management, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Familiarity with problem-solving tools.
Additional Preferred Skills:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Advanced degree in Engineering.
