Our client, based in Emeryville, CA, specializes in innovative Point of Sale (POS) solutions for retail environments nationwide. LHH is seeking a skilled POS Technician Team Member to support and enhance our client's retail operations.


Position Overview: As a POS Technician Team Member, you will be responsible for providing reliable and efficient technical support for POS systems across multiple retail locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, multitasking capabilities, and comfort working in a fast-paced technology field.


Emplyment type: 6 month contract to hire


Responsibilities Include:



  • POS Store Support Helpdesk: Provide first-level technical support for POS systems, troubleshooting issues remotely or on-site to minimize reliance on external vendors. Ensure systems are operational to facilitate seamless sales transactions and customer service.


  • System Maintenance and Upgrades: Maintain software and hardware compliance by performing upgrades and patches as needed. Ensure POS systems are optimized for efficiency and accuracy.


  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for store operators and staff to optimize inventory management and customer service processes. Implement standards for pricing, system checks, and compliance audits to enhance operational effectiveness.


  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and profitability through innovative use of POS technologies.


About You:



  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.


  • Previous experience with Retalix ISS 45 or Storeline application preferred.


  • High school diploma or equivalent; A+ Certification and Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clear and effective communication.


  • Proven ability to handle unexpected issues and solve problems creatively.


  • Help desk experience and previous POS system experience are advantageous.


  • High energy level, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to learning new software applications.
