Job Description: Contract IT Project Manager


Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Project Manager to oversee the effective portfolio management of strategic and critical projects. The ideal candidate will support Program Initiative Leads in planning and managing the execution of strategic projects using best practices and industry-standard processes. This role requires a proactive approach to planning, executing, controlling, and monitoring projects to ensure successful delivery.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the management of a portfolio of strategic and critical projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.


  • Project Planning and Execution: Support Program Initiative Leads in planning and managing the execution of strategic projects. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and accountability across teams.


  • Schedule Management: Develop, manage, and update the Project Schedule to ensure project scope and applicable milestones are met.


  • Risk and Issue Management: Track project details, provide status updates, and proactively address risks and issues to ensure project success.


  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate results. Partner with Business Owners to ensure project readiness and execution.


  • Status Reporting: Develop and deliver regular status reports to stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on project progress.


  • Communication Enhancement: Work closely with the project’s Communication Manager to enhance communication efforts and ensure all stakeholders are informed.


Qualifications:



  • Experience: 5+ years of IT project management experience, preferably within the banking industry. Proven track record in strategic project management and execution of complex projects.


  • Industry Knowledge: 1+ years of experience in the banking industry or a similar highly regulated environment.


  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be articulate and persuasive, with the judgment and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.


  • Leadership and Organizational Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.


  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.


  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in project management tools and software.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications.


Contract Details:



  • Duration: Minimum 6-Months


  • Location: Fully On-Site In Dublin, CA


  • Compensation: 55-70/hr
