The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by providing in-depth technical knowledge to customers and prospective clients about the company's products and solutions. This role combines technical expertise with sales skills to understand customer requirements, recommend appropriate products, and ensure customer satisfaction. The representative will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and customer support teams to address customer needs and drive business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development:
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with key stakeholders in targeted markets.
Act as a technical advisor and liaison between the customer and the company’s product and engineering teams.
Technical Expertise:
Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education to customers and prospects.
Analyze customer needs and propose appropriate solutions using the company’s products or services.
Demonstrate the technical functionality of products through presentations, live demonstrations, and workshops.
Customer Relationship Management:
Maintain ongoing communication with clients, addressing technical questions, and offering post-sale technical support.
Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the product management and engineering teams to stay updated on new product developments and features.
Collaborate with marketing teams to create technical content, including brochures, data sheets, and white papers.
Market Research and Reporting:
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for product improvements or new offerings.
Prepare and deliver sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to management.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred)
Experience:
3+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or a related technical support role.
Proven experience in selling complex technical solutions or systems.
Skills:
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn and understand complex products.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools.
Travel
Willingness to travel to client sites at least one week out of the month
