Litigation Paralegal

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have experience working on complex litigation matters.


Responsibilities:



  • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial.


  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses, and trial-related documents (exhibits, witness lists, subpoenas).


  • Manage case files, including the organization and maintenance of physical and electronic records.


  • Coordinate discovery, including preparing and responding to discovery requests, organizing and reviewing documents, and managing electronic discovery (eDiscovery).


  • Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating logistics for depositions and hearings.


  • Conduct legal research and assist attorneys with case strategy and legal issues.


  • Prepare and draft discovery responses, settlement documents, and client correspondence.


  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation and trial support, including attending trials when necessary.


  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and mediations, managing all related logistics.


  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts to facilitate case progress and ensure deadlines are met.


  • Prepare and organize documents for court filings, including e-filing and ensuring compliance with local and federal court rules.


  • Manage case timelines and ensure that all deadlines are met for court filings, discovery responses, and other legal documents.


  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm


  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes, court rules, and legal terminology.


  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software (such as iManage, Relativity, or similar).


  • Experience with e-filing systems and managing discovery, including eDiscovery tools and document management systems.


  • Strong research skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and client-focused approach.


  • Paralegal certification preferred, but not required.


  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field preferred.
