Logistics Coordinator (Contract to Hire) - Midtown, GA Location: Midtown, GA Hours: Hybrid 8-5 pm Type: Contract to Hire Compensation: $19-$20 per hour Position Overview: The client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Midtown, GA. This role is critical in ensuring smooth logistics operations and delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer questions and concerns regarding order status.
  • Notify customers of delays in shipments, inventory availability, or alternative packaging options.
  • Seek alternative delivery dates/times due to carrier failure or product availability.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Planners to find alternative delivery options.
  • Work with the client’s 3PL to obtain shipment status updates and proof of delivery.
  • Address carrier-related questions and respond to requests for accessorial charges.
  • Collaborate with customers to avoid accessorial charges.
  • Enter and maintain customer orders.
  • Train customers on the use of the client’s online portal.
  • Monitor customer inventory to ensure effective use of the client’s assets.
  • Ensure customer systems are updated with hours of operation, contacts, and phone numbers.
  • Monitor drop trailer status to ensure availability before the next delivery.
  • Review uncovered orders and approve freight rates as necessary.
  • Manage end-of-season planning and ensure reusable packaging containers (RPCs) are returned.
  • Manage the customer return process and collaborate with wash sites on asset conditions.
  • Assist the Sales and Service Representative with routine customer reporting and business review report generation.
  • Support additional projects and activities as required.
Requirements, Experience, & Education:
  • 1-3 years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or transportation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, or logistics preferred.
  • Other relevant customer service experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional customer service via phone and email.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing effective relationships with customers and teammates.
  • Quick thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Oracle is a plus.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Willingness to travel for customer implementation or visits with field representatives if required.
