LHH has a client in Albuquerque who is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join their professional team. Job Description: This individual will be responsible for preparing tax payments, estimating, and tracking tax returns, and completing regular and ad-hoc tax reports. They will ensure compliance with all tax regulations and laws, while identifying tax savings and opportunities for clients. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and laws.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and planning to optimize tax savings and benefits.
  • Analyze financial statements and prepare necessary reports for tax compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and laws.
  • Assist in tax audits and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients on tax-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns.
  • Identify potential tax savings and opportunities to improve tax processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst, or similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and tax principles, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in tax software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
