Due to this significant growth within our Digital Solutions business, we are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the exciting opportunity of Manufacturing Engineer.
Working alongside our friendly and supportive team in our offices in Tewkesbury, United Kingdom, the primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer is to manage all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Motivation outcomes and the associated improvement strategies.

What you will be doing
- Ensuring that Safety, Health, Environment is prioritised throughout entire Plant Operation;
- Delivering Process Planning as an integrated component of Production Scheduling and Repair & Maintenance of Customer equipment;
- Managing, motivating, mentoring, training and developing a talented Orica Digital production and technical team;
- Deliver the final product that meets the scheduled volume demand and QA/QC requirements;
- Supporting all stakeholders in R&D, Supply Chain, Production and Manufacturing in delivering the overall business objectives.
- Preparing, reviewing, and updating process documentation and standard operating procedures and special test procedures as directed for the existing product range.
- Assist in the implementation of a new ERP system, leading to the loading and verification of BOMs to ensure that engineering changes are updated throughout.
- Actively support supply chain with inventory management, open POs and production forecast,
- Assessing the current manufacturing processes and investigating improvement opportunities where possible, to increase efficiencies and drive growth.
- Design and implement new jigs and fixtures for manual processes to increase quality and efficiency through production.
- Driving an inclusive culture of continuous improvement within the operations team.
What you will bring
- Minimum of 5 years' experience post professional qualification and direct people management;
- Proven leadership and collaborative approach in the development of the direction and operations of the workstream;
- Strong experience in best practice PCBA and small batch electromechanical assembly manufacturing;
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma initiatives would be desirable, but not essential.
- Experience in implementing process improvement initiatives;
- Demonstrated skills associated with stakeholder management and building strong vendor relationships;
- First hand Production scheduling experience.
