Location: City Centre, Manchester


Are you a seasoned Banking Principal Associate or an experienced Banking Solicitor? This is a rare chance to join a national, market-leading banking & finance team, and make a significant impact as they continue to expand their ambitious practice.


The Role:

This exciting opportunity is perfect for an experienced banking and finance solicitor looking to take their career to the next level.


As a Principal Associate, you will:


  • Advise banks, lenders, fund managers, and other corporate and institutional clients on various finance and security issues.
  • Work across diverse sectors such as asset-based lending, leveraged finance, corporate lending, real estate finance, and capital markets.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams on funding issues related to mergers and acquisitions, as well as portfolio property refinances.
  • Draught and prepare essential documents throughout transaction processes.
  • Engage in marketing efforts to attract new clients and maintain relationships with existing ones.

The firms diverse client base includes major clearing banks like NatWest, HSBC, and Barclays, as well as debt funds and international banks. A key growth area will involve working with international banks operating from London.


The Person:

The team are looking for individuals with:


  • 8+ PQE and substantial experience in a firm known for its banking and finance expertise.
  • Strong technical skills and excellent written English for effective drafting.
  • Exceptional time and file management capabilities, alongside negotiation skills.
  • A self-starter attitude, common sense, and initiative.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capability to lead and manage a team effectively.
