Position: Senior Legal Counsel, Employment Role type:
Location: Central London (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £70,000 - £95,000 per annum (DOE) plus car allowance and excellent bonus
We are supporting a leading organisation in their search for a Senior Employment Legal Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity for a UK-qualified solicitor with 4 years plus PQE to join an existing In-House legal team, offering a fantastic hybrid working arrangement, with a balance of office and remote working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on all aspects of employment law, including recruitment, policies and procedures, managing internal processes, restructuring, redundancy, and employment tribunal litigation.
- Synthesise and clearly present complex legal matters and risks to senior management, ensuring practical, business-focused solutions.
- Advise on corporate support matters, with a particular focus on employment-related issues during mergers and acquisitions, TUPE transfers, and organisational change.
- Draft and review employment-related contracts, policies, and documentation, ensuring compliance with UK employment regulations and standards.
- Work collaboratively with HR, management, and other legal teams to manage risks and provide proactive legal guidance to support the company's business objectives.
About You:
- UK Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of four years PQE in employment law
- Experience working in-house or at a top ranked or nationally recognised law firm.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to break down and present complex legal issues to senior management in a clear, concise, and commercially-minded manner.
- Proven track record of advising on UK employment law, from recruitment through to tribunal litigation.
- Experience with corporate support work is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with pension schemes, rewards, and operating in highly regulated or high-profile environments is advantageous.
