The Role:
As a Public Relations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the firm's key practises and partners, helping to build a positive media profile. You will collaborate closely with the Associate Director to implement PR strategies that showcase thought leadership, events, and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Media Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact with the press, nurturing relationships with target reporters across national, broadcast, and legal media.
- Opportunity Identification: Research and identify profile opportunities, including comment opportunities, articles, and case studies.
- Engagement: Actively engage with reporters to secure coverage for partners and coordinate media briefings, preparing partners for interviews.
- Content Creation: Write compelling press releases, pitches, and articles to enhance the firm's visibility.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track media activity and editorial calendars, recommending opportunities for increased visibility.
- Collaboration: Attend practise group meetings to discuss PR opportunities and work closely with external PR agencies.
Experience:
- 4-5 years in PR or communications, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
- Media Contacts: Significant connections within the UK media landscape, particularly legal and national outlets.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Proactive Attitude: A highly motivated individual with a collaborative spirit and a passion for learning and development.
Qualifications:
- Degree in English, Communications, or a related field.
- Familiarity with PR tools, media databases, and social media platforms, especially LinkedIn.
