Job Title: Assistant Financial Controller


Location: East Staffordshire


Contract Details: Permanent, Full Time


Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

Our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller.

  • Responsibilities:


In this diverse role, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and take on a range of responsibilities, including:


- Budgeting and monthly forecasting

  • Consolidating spend, including budget, forecast, and monthly reporting
  • Monitoring and reporting on detailed cost control
  • Performing normal accounting tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting grant and tax reclaim work with tax specialists
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on all inbound logistics cost
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on all BOM & NON BOM material cost movements with Group Purchasing
  • Managing a team of 2 to 3 members
  • Acting as a deputy for the Financial Controller as required
  • Essential skills, qualifications, and experience:


Background in the manufacturing industry is desirable but not essential

  • CIMA/ACCA/ ACA qualified
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and management accounts processes
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and ideally experience working on SAP
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with senior staff
  • Previous successful business partnership experience with individuals outside of Finance functions
  • Desirable skills, qualifications, and experience:
  • Experience with cost control monitoring and reporting
  • Knowledge of grant and tax reclaim processes
  • Leadership experience
