For a well-established shipping broking house in Geneva, we are seeking an experienced Tanker Operator to optimize our vessel operations and support business growth in the global shipping industry.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of tanker vessels, ensuring efficient and timely voyages.
- Coordinate with charterers, shipowners, and agents to manage loading and discharge operations.
- Monitor vessel performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms and regulatory requirements.
- Handle voyage instructions, stowage plans, and cargo documentation.
- Optimize voyage planning, including routing, speed management, and bunker consumption.
- Manage laytime calculations, demurrage claims, and other post-fixture activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the shipping industry.
- Maintain accurate records of operations and prepare performance reports.
- Implement and monitor safety and environmental policies to ensure compliance with international standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in tanker operations or related shipping roles.
- Strong understanding of tanker operations, charter parties, and maritime regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in maritime software and voyage management systems.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
